The barrel has script Mle 1873 on the top flat, two proofs on the left, and S.1890 on the right. The right side of the frame is marked Mre d'Armes over St Etienne. The serial number is found on the barrel, frame, cylinder, trigger guard, and cylinder rod. There are various proof marks and numbers on the various large and small parts. It retains its original bright finish with areas of spotting and discoloration. The checkered grips are good with usage wear and a dent on the bottom right. The double action functions correctly. This is a basic gun for any French or European pistol collection.
