British WW1 455 Revolver Spanish Made No.2 MK1 Very Good Cond.
Description: Spanish pistol sold to the British during the period of arms shortages in WW1. (Contract 5th Nov 1915) built by Trocaola Aranzabal CD and was known as the No2 MK 1 with a 5" barrel in 455 caliber . These revolvers were basically a copy of the Smith & Wesson double action top break revolver. Due to the reputation the British set quality control standards and insisted on Enfield. Arsenal proofing them prior to payment. There were 45,000 Spanish revolvers delivered by 1917 this example. Shows SN 697 under the Lefte grip and a 1914 date on the grips. Enfield proofs are found on the frame, barrel and cylinder. Bright excellent bore, case color on hammer and trigger and most of its' original bright blue finish. This scarce issue revolver is mechanically sound and remains as an above average example for the WW1 or British Military Collector.
