The very first production of these Type 26 Japanese 9mm Revolvers, about 300 pieces, were manufactured without markings at all. The next batch of early pre 1898 revolvers were made with only the arsenal marking and without serial number. This is one of those revolvers. In addition a very few of the revolvers made in this fashion would chamber .38S&W ammunition - nobody knows why but this is one of those revolvers, making it extremely rare and quite collectible. Revolver retains a lot of original finish with some finish turning to a nice patina. Bore and chambers are excellent. Grips are original and excellent with only minimal handling marks. A rare and desireable Type 26.
