SOVIET RUSSIAN NAGANT Model 1895 TULA Arsenal Revolver WWII c1934
Description: SOVIET RUSSIAN NAGANT Model 1895 TULA Arsenal Revolver WWII USSR Sidearm c1934 mfr. Description: Soviet Russian Nagant Model 1895 Revolver made at the Tula Arsenal in Russia, circa 1934. This was the primary sidearm of the Soviet Union during the Second World War. This one bears the Tula arsenal mark and a date of 1934. This is a seven shot revolver chambered for 7.62x38mmR and features the “gas seal” system. This involves the cylinder moving forward when the gun is cocked to create a seal between the barrel. This provided a boost to the velocity of the projectile by eliminating cylinder gap. Leon Nagant is to be credited with this unusual system. He was quite the inventor and gun maker. The M1895 was made in both single and double action, though the double action design eventually became the default. The M1895 Nagant was reliable and was used by the Soviet Union military all the way up to about 1952, when it was replaced by the Makarov pistol. The overall condition is excellent. Original finish with over 95% of its original bluimg. The action is excellent. The bore is clean with strong rifling. The grips show very little wear is any. Frame and trigger guard numbers match. The holster looks great and is like new. Cleaning rod and small cartiridge pouch on holster. This is the nicest Russian M1895 that I have ever seen. Specifications:. Barrel is 4-1/2 inches. Caliber: 7.62x38mmR Capacity: 7 shots Grips: Hand Carved Wood Holster: Leather Overall condition is excellent as seen in photos.
