The Modello 1874 was the first handgun adopted by the Kingdom of Italy's armed forces. The overall length is approx. 11.5"". The 6.3"" octagon 10.35mm caliber barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. It has a blade front sight with the block rear sight at the rear of the top strap. The left receiver is marked in an arc R'FABB.D'ARMI over BRESCIA (fabricated by the Brescia arsenal) in an opposing arc below with 1887 in the center. The right barrel flat is stamped with an S. The top rear of the right frame is stamped MU 44. This revolver retains approx. 95% of its original dull military blue finish. The checkered grips are very good with scattered light bruising. The lanyard ring and swivel are present. The action functions correctly. This fine Modello 1874 is fit for the finest Italian or European revolver collection.
