S&W .38/200 British Service Revolver
Description:
Serial #968107, .38/200 (.38 S&W), 4" barrel with an excellent, bright bore.
This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, extractor, yoke, and barrel with the metal retaining 95-97% of an armory reapplied blue finish that has faded slightly on a few of the high edges and projections, a single small spot of brown oxidation on the “H" in Smith & Wesson on the left side of the barrel, as well as a noticeable turn-ring on the cylinder.
A small British acceptance stamp is present on the left side of the frame, clear “UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marking is present on the topstrap, and crisp Birmingham commercial proofs are present as well.
The checkered walnut diamond-center grips are in very good-fine shape with some very light handling marks and small blemishes, as well as some flaked varnish, and mild flattening of the points.
The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly.
This is a nice example of a Lend-Lease S&W overall, and would make a nice representative example for a collection.
