Description:
Standard late configuration Waffenfabrik Bern Model 1882 Swiss Military Revolver with fluted wood grips, chambered in 7.5mm, having a 6" octagonal barrel with fixed front and notched rear sight. Waffenfabrik Bern markings on left side of frame under the full serial number 24704, the serial number repeated on left side of barrel and cylinder, with the last few digits repeated on the ejector rod, hammer, and trigger. The cylinder axle is "654". Separate assembly numbers on various parts most notably ‘484’. Original smooth wood fluted grips. Lanyard ring present. Complete with scarce Zoll/Border Guard Luger-like holster dated "35" with shoulder strap.
Condition:
VG+ original rust blue finish with sharp edge wear and fading on right side of frame as carefully imaged. Comparable condition strawed parts with superficial freckling and thinning on frictional surfaces. Grips with light oil staining and a few handling marks. Mirror bright bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics with each cylinder indexing tightly against gentle resistance. VG holster oil stained with scattered scuffing, nicely marked on obverse surface, with original shoulder strap in comparable condition.
