Colt 1917 .45acp
Description: Up for your consideration is a very nice Colt US Army model 1917 , .45acp .5.5in. barrel , Army serial # 71-719 , on butt swivell , Colt serial # on frame and crane as shown ,206096 . Shipped approx. June 1918 . Bottom of barrel " United States Property " with a small letter 'H " just rear of that , H rear of cylinder , and H inside cylinder crane release . H is believed to be the provisional Inspector Francis L Hosmer .The bluing is a wartime original brushed finish which is really nice , rust and pitt free . The bore and cylinder are equally as nice . Nice walnut wood grips are free of splits or cracks . The left grip frame has a "G " as for government .When revolver is in battery there is no movement of the cylinder , none .The barrel has a very light patina .The frame screws have no twisted heads .I shot this piece of history and it is very accurate . You can shoot without moon clips . The brass will fall out and maybe 1 cylinder might stay in but a finger nail will remove the spent brass . I shot this 1 time 12 rounds , each wiith moon clips and without ,at 20 ft. I was getting 3 in. groups . There are 2 photos of ammo w/ moon clip and without in the cylinder with new .45 ammo ..The lanyard is marked " Patent Feb. 20,1917 on the brass . The original ammo pouch is marked Long 10-18 . And last is an amazing find of 24 original rounds in the original box and in the original moon clips as was given to our WW1 soldiers .The ammo is marked REM-UMC 1918 . Also included are 2 original 3 round moon clips . I had new .45 ammo in those clips inside the ammo pouch for show . This grouping is in amazing shape . Hard to upgrade . I also have another box of original 24 rounds .45 acp with the moon clips headstamped REM-UMC 1917 if interested . You will not be disappointed . Shipping and Insurance $50.00 . It will ship from my FFL to your FFL . No sale to Calif. or restricted states . Payment by postal money order preferred . Bank check or personal check allow time to clear . Thanks for looking .
