Description:
This is a minty example of a Smith & Wesson .38 Military & Police Pre-Model 10 Revolver. All matching with a "U.S. Property" marking on the back strap. According to the included S&W factory letter, this particular gun was part of a contract with the US Marine Corps and was shipped to the USMC Supply Annex in Barstow, CA on December 28, 1953. It is in near-mint condition, retained nearly all of its high polish bluing. Just hints of high edge and muzzle wear. Excellent case-hardening on the hammer and trigger. Very minor oxidation on the trigger. Fitted with excellent hand-checkered Walnut grips - the right panel is numbered but not matching to the gun. Mint bore.
