ORIGINAL MOD 1905 POLICE POSITIVE COLT US MADE ARGENTINE POLICIA de la CAPITAL REVOLVER ALL MATCHING w COLT LETTER

ORIGINAL 1905 Model COLT US HARTFORD MADE POLICE POSITIVE, POLICIA DE LA CAPITAL marked REVOLVER with ALL MATCHING NUMBERS; shipped to the POLICE Department (Policia de la Capital rename now Federal Police) in 1912 stated in the COLT ARCHIVE LETTER; EXTREMELY RARE to FIND!

Description: From my personal collection. Very good, nice condition  Argentine contract issue Colt Double Action .38 caliber revolver (I believe is 38 S&W). This is a very scarce gun, with this Argentine Police marking, they were shipped in 1912 to the Argentine Capital Police Department. This example is serial #59337; with ALL MATCHING NUMBERS. The # 2993 on the butt Pommel is an internal Capital Police number. Standard Colt markings on the barrel "COLT POLICE POSITE 38" on the left side; and "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A; PAT'D AUG 5 1884 JUNE 5 1900 JULY 4 1905" on the top. "Policia de la Capital" marked on the frame between grip panels (unfortunately very worn out, faint; can make up a few letters). Rampant Colt marked on frame by the top part of the left grip (bit faint on the bottom). Metal finish appears to have the original rich colt blue (hint of the iridescent blue) remaining mixed with a brownish-grayish even pleasing patina; discoloration, thinning, fading, edge wear with slight imperfections, few scattered tiny shallow freckles, nicks, scratches, handling marks. 4” barrel. To the naked eye, the bore is very nice, clean, bright, a bit dull with strong rifling and scattered light imperfections. Plastic Black grips appear to be original in great shape with the Colt logo but with a small chip on the right rear corner; with very light minimal normal scratches, handling marks and bruises. The action, appears to be mechanically in good working condition. It includes the COLT Archive Letter.

A seldom seen COLT, ARGENTINE POLICIA de la CAPITAL revolver with the Rampant Colt with all matching numbers and the COLT Archive Letter that will make an excellent addition to your collection.
