Smith & Wesson ~ US Service Model of 1917 ~ .45 cal.
Description:
This revolver is being sold AS IS. It is a put together gun with several issues. This Smith & Wesson US Service Model 1917 was manufactured late during World War One. It was a originally chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. It appears the cylinder has been drilled to possible except .45 Colt Ctg. The head space for the .45 Colt Ctg. is excessive. It is not correct and it would be unsafe to fire with the .45 LC cartridge. The timing is seriously off. The serial numbers on the cylinder and ejector star serial numbers do not match the barrel. Also, the assembly numbers on the crane and frame do not match. The original serial number and US Property Stamp are no longer visible on the bottom of the grip frame. The lanyard ring hole has been plugged. .45 ACP
