WW2 S&W Victory Model Revolver
Description:
Serial #V295950, .38 Special, 4' barrel with an excellent, bright bore.
This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, barrel, yoke, and extractor, with the metal retaining 85-90% of the original Du-Lite finish that has silvering along the edges, faded along the sides of the barrel and frame, and some mild freckling on the gripstraps.
The “US PROPERTY GHD" marking on the topstrap is still crisp and clear.
The trigger and hammer have a commensurate amount of original color case-hardening remaining, with some plum-brown freckling along the sides of each.
The smooth walnut factory grips are numbered to the gun, and have minor handling marks scattered about the fine, reapplied military oil finish.
The action is functional, however the cylinder fails to time correctly on one chamber.
This is a very good example of a WW2 Victory Model .38, and would make a nice example for a collection.
