Colt 2nd generation 1862 pocket police and 1862 pocket navy in Shumate Case-All Accessories
Description: Colt second generation model number F1400 1862 Pocket navy SN 48410 and F1500 1862 Pocket Police SN 53793 with complete set of accessories displayed in a double, Bill Shumate custom made period correct presentation case. New in box unfired condition. Brilliant color case hardening. 1862 POCKET NAVY MODEL F1400 36 Cal 5 ½" octagon banel-7 groove rifling with left hand twist. 10.5 Inches length Rebated and non-fluted cylinder with five chambers, five safety locking pins, Ormsby roll engraved stagecoach holdup scene, and rectangular bolt cuts. Overall cylinder length is 1 3/16" and rebated 9/16". Color case hardened steel frame brass pin in front sight and a "V" notch hammer in rear sight. Silver plated brass backstrap Silver plated bras oval trigger guard Varnished one piece walnut grip An Ormsby designed stagecoach holdup scene is roll engraved on the cylinder The entire serial number is stamped on the frame, barrel, wedge, cylinder pin, trigger guard and pencil or pen inscribed within the backstrap channel of the walnut grip. Only the last four digits are stamped on the backstrap. "ADDRES COL. SAM COLT NEW-YORK U. S. AMERICA" is roll engraved on the top flat the barrel and read: toward the breech. "COLTS/PATENT" is stamped on the left side of the frame. "36 Cal." is stamped on the left shoulder of the trigger guard. Color case hardened frame, hammer, loading lever, latch and plunger. Colt Blue barrel, cylinder, trigger, wedge and screws. Silver plated brass backstrap and trigger guard with vanished one piece walnut grip. Colt specifications are 12 to 20 grains (15 grains recommended) of FFFg black powder per chamber, Number 10 percussion caps, 378 to 380 inch (.378 inch recommended) diameter lead round balls or lead conical bullets. The 1862 Pocket Navy features the old style "hinged" loading lever/plunger assembly with a horizontal front latch and octagon barrel of the Dragoon and Navy era.
