Description:
Standard configuration 7-Shot Chrome Engraved James Reid “My Friend” Knuckle Duster Revolver, cal: .22, made 1868-82, an instantly recognizable single action revolver in which the 1.5” cylinder also functions as a smooth bored barrel, rotating around a screwed-in cylinder pin, with a sliding safety mounted under the frame. The left side of the frame marked “MY FRIEND”, sparse engraving on forward frame and topstrap with more profuse coverage on the sideplates, with a checkered backstrap and full serial number at base.
Condition:
VG/EXC factory original chrome with scattered handling marks and oxidative flecking as one might expect from a revolver that has been carried for a moderate period. Bright bores with light erosion. Correct manual mechanics. One of the more unique revolver designs from the last century!
