THIS IS AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF A RATHER SCARCE REMINGTON 44-40 , 1875 IN ORIGINAL 5 1/2" BARREL LENGTH. ALMOST ALL THE PRODUCTION WAS 71/2" AND THIS ONE IS ORIGINAL AND IN VERY NICE CONDITION. OVERALL THE GUN RETAINS AT LEAST 95% OF IT'S FACTORY ORIGINAL NICKEL FINISH. THE ACTION IS TIGHT AND WORKS PERFECTLY. BORE IS VERY GOOD. GRIPS ARE EXCELLENT. HARDTO FIND THESE SHORT BARREL 1875's IN NICE ORIGINAL SHAPE. ANTIQUE STATUS
