We offer you a “Gorgeous” Uberti Manufactured Remington model 1875 Army Single Action Outlaw Revolver Chambered in 44/40 W.C.F. with a 7 1/2" barrel.
Remington’s model 1875 Army was their attempt to compete with the highly successful Colt Single Action Revolver of the time. It is known that the 1875 revolver was used on the American Frontier including in the hands of Frank and Jesse James.
This Uberti recreation is catalog number 1543 and features 2-piece European walnut grips with a satin finish. A steel case hardened frame with a blued barrel, trigger guard, cylinder and under-rib. The top of the barrel is marked “UBERTI USA, LAKEVILLE CT / MADE IN ITALY BY A. UBERTI”. The left side of the barrel is marked “MOD. 1875 ARMY Model – CAL 44-40”. The right side of the frame is marked with two proofs and the date code “BD” - “CAT. 1543”. The bottom of the grip frame is marked “20662” and the rear face of the cylinder is marked “62”. The date code makes the year of manufacture 1994.
The revolver is in excellent “Plus” condition as you can see. There are a few very, very minor surface marks in the finish with the balance looking like new. It has spent most of the time in a gun safe until now. The 7 ½ inch barrel has an excellent bore with no issues. Timing and lock-up are solid with no issues.
