Remington 1861 navy model .36 caliber is an unusual example as it was left ""in the white"" with no finish. The inspectors mark is the letter ""b"" on the left side vertical barrel flat and the letter ""b"" on the left side of the frame. Approximately 7,000 made for the Navy in 1862. This example has the exposed barrel threads and cone front sight. Bore is perfect. The cylinder has the inspectors' ""B"" initial on the cylinder. Grips are excellent, no chip or cracks. The barrel address is perfect. There is no evidence of this revolver ever being blued. We assume the fact that it was inspected and left in the white was a matter of expediency in order to fulfill the contract.
