Here is an old gunfighters rig. The model 1875 Remington has been shortened during its lifetime to a 6" barrel. The gun operates as it did when made and is chambered for the popular 44-40 roung. It retains about 60-70% of the original nickle finsih. The grips are beautiuflly and professionally checkered and the action is smooth as silk. The bore is not bad with pretty good sound rifling. It comes with an original two loop F. (Fred) M. Stern of San Jose Cal. marked holster and unmarked early belt. Stern went into business making holsters in 1850 and was one of Californias oldest holster makers. The holster is in excellent shape and is completely border tooled and fits the gun like a glove. Nice early wild west California marked gun fighters rig.
