Antique REMINGTON New Model NAVY Percussion Revolver .36 CIVIL WAR WILD WEST Scarce; One of 28,000 Revolvers Manufactured
Description: Antique REMINGTON New Model NAVY Percussion Revolver .36 CIVIL WAR WILD WEST Scarce; One of 28,000 Revolvers Manufactured Here we present an antique Remington New Model Navy Revolver manufactured circa 1864 in Ilion, New York. Remington manufactured approximately 28,000 of the .36 caliber New Model Navy revolvers between 1863 and 1875. About 4,300 of these revolvers were purchased by the U.S. Navy. ThIS revolver lacks the anchor stamp found on some U.S. Navy Remington revolvers. There were three progressive models made by Remington. They were the Remington-Beals Army & Navy (1860–1862), the 1861 Army & Navy (1862–1863), and the New Model Army & Navy (1863–1875). The three models are nearly identical in size and appearance. Subtle but noticeable differences in hammers, loading levers, and cylinders help identify each model. The 1861 Remington actually transitioned into New Model appearance by late 1862, slowly transforming throughout 1862, due to continual improvement suggestions from the U. S. Ordnance Department. The overall condition is good. Brown patina throughout. The action is excellent. The bore is in good condition with strong rifling. The grips show use and remain solid. Numbers match throughout. There is a stable split at the heel of the right panel. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 7-3/8 inches. Caliber: .36 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2400 #230630 SOLD Antique: Yes |
