CASED Antique REMINGTON “Improved” NEW MODEL .38 Rimfire NAVY Revolver Fantastic, Early Single Action Cowboy Revolver!
Description: CASED Antique REMINGTON “Improved” NEW MODEL .38 Rimfire NAVY Revolver Fantastic, Early Single Action Cowboy Revolver! Here we present an antique Remington “Improved” New Model Navy Cartridge Revolver, manufactured / converted circa 1873-88 in Ilion, New York. Remington manufactured approximately 22,000 of the .36 caliber percussion New Model Navy revolvers between 1863 and 1875. Shortly after, many of these were “improved” being converted from percussion to .38 caliber rimfire along with new models being manufactured. This solid frame revolver came with a high polish nickel finish on the barrel, frame and cylinder. The trigger guard is brass and the trigger is niter blue. The two-piece walnut grips are oil finished. The top of the octagon barrel is roll-stamped "PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858. MARCH 17, 1863/E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILLION, NEW YORK, U.S.A. This one, along with many others, were manufactured / converted to a .38 caliber metallic cartridge before ever leaving the factory, as the Rollin-White was expiring. The overall condition is very good. The action is strong and mechanically sound. The bore is bright with nice rifling. Both grips have seen their fair share of use as they show their age through wear and cracks on the butt. The inside of the grips are stamped with “818”. The numbers match. The included case is in very good shape. Here is a great example of an early-post-Civil War “cowboy” 6-shooter from Remington! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 7-1/2 inches. Caliber: .38 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail!
