DESIRABLE Scarce Antique REMINGTON New Model POLICE .36 PERCUSSION Revolver UNCONVERTED Percussion Five Shot Revolver
Description: DESIRABLE Scarce Antique REMINGTON New Model POLICE .36 PERCUSSION Revolver UNCONVERTED Percussion Five Shot Revolver Here we present an antique Navy Caliber Remington New Model Police Revolver, made in Ilion, New York, with a production run between 1865 to 1873. Beginning in 1865, a scaled down version of the Remington New Model Navy, which was marketed as the New Model Police revolver, was added to the Remington line up. The gun had a smaller frame, a five rather than six shot smooth round cylinder, and was offered in barrel lengths that ranged from 3.5” to 6.5” in one-inch increments. The shorter barrel lengths were more conducive to discrete conceal and carry. This nice example was manufactured by Remington & Sons in the late 1860s to early 1870s with an estimated total of 18,000 manufactured. As mentioned, these revolvers were scaled down versions of the Remington Belt and Navy Models. Most of the New Model Police Revolvers were either manufactured to chamber metallic cartridges or factory altered for cartridges. Original percussion New Model Police revolvers like this example are very scarce. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped “PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858/REMINGTON & SONS, ILION NEW YOUR U.S.A./NEW MODEL” in three lines. The overall condition is very good. Patina throughout. The action is excellent. The bore is in good condition with strong rifling. Solid grips. Numbers match. The Dixon & Sons Sheffield powder flask is in very good condition. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 5-1/2 inches. Caliber: .36 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1800 #247663 SOLD Antique: Yes |
