Description: Remington New Model Belt Revolver Single Action Conversion. Made in .38 caliber rimfire, 6 shot, with 6 1/2" octagon barrel marked: PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858, E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, NEW YORK, U.S.A. NEW MODEL The New Model "BELT REVOLVER" is smaller than the New Model NAVY REVOLVER and larger than the New Model POLICE REVOLVER Manufactured from 1863 to 1888. Production was about 2,500 and smallest production of any of the New Model Remington revolvers. A little smaller in size than the Navy .36 and screws enters from the right side of the frame. Bore is mostly bright with spots of light corrosion, Mechanically perfect, Original Grips show most of their varnish but do have minor chips on front edge of the butt, no cracks. Under the loading lever is serial #80 58. On the conversion cylinder #245 and on the grip frame #80 58. Metal has brown showing through the original nickel and the trigger guard looks to be silver plated. Of all the Remington NEW MODELS this model had the smallest production run making it the rarest of all. This is an ANTIQUE and can be shipped directly to you in the USA or INTERNATIONALLY.
