Remington New Model DA Belt Revolver (Matching Fluted Cylinder)
Description:
Serial #769, .36 Caliber, 6 1/2" octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore.
This is a splendid revolver that has 70-75% original bright blue remaining, mostly on the matching numbered, fluted cylinder, with the barrel and frame having flaked to a mottled plum-brown patina.
The loading lever has a matching plum-brown color, and most of the original, muted color case-hardening remains on the hammer.
The trigger guard has about 80-90% of the original silver plate remaining, and yellow-ochre underlying brass visible along the edges.
The walnut grips are in fine shape with only minor handling marks in the original varnish on either side.
The action is tight and fully functional in both single and double-action.
Most of these seldom-encountered fluted cylinder examples do not have numbered cylinders, making this example doubly rare.
It is in excellent condition, and would make a splendid addition to any collection.
