REMINGTON-RIDER Improved New Model .38 Rimfire Conversion WILD WEST Antique Early Metallic Cartridge Conversion
Description: REMINGTON-RIDER Improved New Model .38 Rimfire Conversion WILD WEST Antique Early Metallic Cartridge Conversion Here we present an antique Remington-Rider “Improved” New Model Belt Conversion Revolver, made and factory converted circa 1873 in Ilion, New York. This revolver was designed for defensive carry and would have been equally at home in a holster, pocket or purse. These revolvers were made during a period when Smith & Wesson owned the Rollin White Patent, which turned out to be the best way to incorporate use of metallic cartridges in revolvers. Companies like Remington and Colt were relegated to continue production of revolvers with the percussion firing system until the patent expired in 1869. Once this happened, companies lost no time fitting their percussion models with various cartridge conversions or incorporating this new technology at the factory. This example of the New Model Belt Revolver demonstrates this transition well. Here’s a Belt Revolver that features the “Improved” technology of a cartridge cylinder, though many were sold with both a cartridge and a percussion cylinder for the same gun. The overall condition is good. Blue and nickel finish. The action is excellent. The bore is in good condition with strong rifling. The grip is solid. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 6-1/2 inches. Caliber: .38 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1900 #230642 SOLD Antique: Yes |
