Antique REMINGTON-ELLIOT “Mississippi” .41 Caliber Rimfire DERINGER Pistol
1 of < 10,000; Nicknamed for RIVERBOAT GAMBLERS
Description: Antique REMINGTON-ELLIOT “Mississippi” .41 Caliber Rimfire DERINGER Pistol 1 of < 10,000; Nicknamed for RIVERBOAT GAMBLERS Here we present an antique Remington-Elliot “Mississippi” Deringer made from 1865-1888. Invented by William H. Elliot, less than 10,000 of these guns were made in all calibers in total over the 23 years production run. This inventive little single shot pistol is very simple in mechanics, having only three moving parts, which are the spur trigger, the main spring, and the combination hammer and breechblock. Place the hammer in the most rearward position and load a cartridge. The hammer also acts as the loading gate and breach block. These have been nicknamed “Mississippi Deringers” due to the presumed popularity among riverboat gamblers steaming up and down the Mississippi River between Saint Louis and New Orleans, hoping to make their fortunes! The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address and patent information, and the matching serial number (7199) is marked on the bottom of the barrel and the bottom of the frame. The overall condition is fine. Original finish. Strong action. The bore is in good shape for its age. Both grips are in good shape with average wear. Numbers match. Sharp markings. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 2-3/8 inches. Caliber: .41 rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1700 #220050 SOLD Antique: Yes |
