Description:
The Ruger Blackhawk revolver was a descendant of the Ruger Single-Six revolver, which was developed in 1953 after Colt discontinued the Single Action Army, leaving behind a gap in Western cowboy-style revolvers. The Blackhawk arrived in 1955 originally in .357 Magnum and soon chambered in .44 Remington Magnum as it arrived on the market, directly competing with the Smith & Wesson Model 29. In 1973, the New Model Blackhawk was introduced with a transfer bar safety mechanism, which helps to prevent accidental discharges from slipping off the hammer or dropping the firearm. This New Model Blackhawk is in great shape with noce timing and lockup and good condition of barrel and cylinder, and only a few minor nicks in the finish. The revolver looks to have been well cared for. It has an adjustable rear sight with textured ramped front sight and black synthetic grips. The revolver is single-action only and holds six rounds of .357 Magnum or .38 S&W Special with a 4 3/4" barrel. The gun exhibits a noticeable, but not heavy, drag line on the cylinder. This Ruger New Model Blackhawk does not include a box or case.
