Here Ancestry Guns presents a Desirable C&R Engraved 3-Screw Frame Sturm, Ruger & Company Single Six Revolver chambered in .22 Long Rifle, made in Southport, Connecticut circa 1962 to 1969. The Ruger Single-Six is a single-action rimfire revolver produced by Sturm, Ruger & Co. and was first released in June 1953. This one features the “Old Model” 3-Screw frame and lacks the transfer bar safety that the new ones have. Many prefer this old design for its light and crisp trigger pull.

Prior to 1973, the Single-Six was produced without the transfer bar mechanism, making it less safe to carry with all six chambers loaded, and with the hammer resting on a loaded chamber. The transfer bar safety allows the revolver to fire only when the trigger has been pulled. Ruger provides the transfer bar safety upgrade free of charge for owners of any old model Single-Six, though this may come with a significant trigger-feel penalty.

The overall condition is very good. Original finish is preserved with some muzzle wear. Excellent action. Shiny bright bore with sharp rifling. Very good replacement grips. Markings are sharp. Subsequently engraved with floral designs.
