According to Ruger’s official serial number history this serial number 159?58508 falls well within the 1983 range—so it’s very likely this revolver was manufactured or shipped in 1983.
The Service?Six was officially the fixed?sight, square?butt variant of the Security?Six introduced shortly after its debut.It was also marketed as the “Police Service?Six” to emphasize law enforcement appeal and collectors covet specimens with this marking. This specimen is in solid condition: light use, fine grips, excellent bore, and stainless steel that responds nicely to a soft buff if desired but we have left “as is”. Just some dried oil on it which we will clean before shipping. Comes with leather holster.

The Service?Six was officially the fixed?sight, square?butt variant of the Security?Six introduced shortly after its debut.It was also marketed as the “Police Service?Six” to emphasize law enforcement appeal and collectors covet specimens with this marking. This specimen is in solid condition: light use, fine grips, excellent bore, and stainless steel that responds nicely to a soft buff if desired but we have left “as is”.
