Description:
Ruger has long been known in revolver circles to build very ruggedized revolvers, often overbuilt to some degree and able to withstand +P or higher pressured loads without a second thought. However, even with their added strength in the frames, Ruger has produced a number of smaller-framed revolvers which lend themselves well to concealed carry applications. The SP101 revolver is one of these smaller-framed wheelguns. With a size somewhere between a medium frame and small frame revolver, the SP101 is very manageable in the hand while having a shorter grip and shedding some weight to fit concealed carry needs while not sacrificing much in shootability. The 5-shot cylinder also helps aid in slimming down the pistol. This SP101 is made completely of stainless steel for resistance to corrosion and the elements, as well as catching the eye. The gun touts a 2 ½" barrel and is a double-action-only pistol with a bobbed hammer. In addition to the longer, heavier trigger pull, the SP101 utilizes a transfer bar safety mechanism to render the gun drop-safe. The revolver sports a set of rubber stocks with plastic inserts for rigidity. The sights are comprised of a groove rear sight matched with a fixed black textured front ramp sight.
