Antique SMITH & WESSON First Model DA Revolver
Description: Antique SMITH & WESSON First Model DA Revolver .44 Russian Made Circa 1881 Here we present an antique Smith & Wesson First Model .44 Double Action Revolver, made circa 1881 in Springfield, Massachusetts. This was an excellent offering from Smith & Wesson that competed well with Colt’s 1877 “Lightning” and “Thunderer” as well as their 1878 “Frontier”, all double action revolvers. There is certainly an argument to be made that S&W bested the Colt offerings in design and longevity, though Colt certainly made more sales. Infamous names such as John Wesley Hardin, notorious outlaw, and Belle Starr, the Bandit Queen of Indian Territory, were two such notable users of the type. The top of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS. U.S.A. PAT’D JAN. 17&24, ‘65/JULY 11, ‘65AUG. 24, ’69, JULY 25, ’71, DEC. 2, ’79, MAY 11 & 25, 1880”. The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces are dark with age with traces of the original nickel finish remaining. The markings are clear and legible. The trademarked hard rubber grips are in great shape. The bore is in very good condition, clean with nice rifling. The action on this revolver is excellent. Here is one that looks like it has been there and done that and works as well as ever! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 4 inches. Caliber: .44 S&W Russian Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1450 #7321 SOLD Antique: Yes |
