Smith & Wesson
.44 HENRY RIM FIRE
Description: A member of the true "OLD WEST" club, is the Smith & Wesson 2nd. Model American in .44 Henry Rim Fire.
This revolver came out of the "brush" and spent most of it's life in the Trans-Pecos West Texas area.
Serial Number 12718 is Factory Lettered to Wexel & DeGress Co. Mexico City, Mexico.
This .44 Rim Fire held on much longer in that area, because it was converted to .44 Centerfire.
This 2nd. Model American Rim Fire saw the "life" on the Frontier close up, and shows it, because "it was there" more than I can say for a mint piece that never saw anything but the inside of a drawer.
The revolver cocks, indexes, and fires, but the ejector does not work. Grips were replaced. The finish has a mottled brown appearance with tiny patches of fine pinpricks. Good overall...
