SMITH & WESSON. Beautiful condition, as restored to the way it was the day it was made in 1869.
Description: An awesome and very rare First Model American "OIL HOLE" # 3 in .44 S&W caliber, that remains in absolutely wonderful condition inside-out! It was returned to the Smith & Wesson factory for refinishing 64 years ago, in March of 1956 - note the '3.56’ date and the stamp on the left grip frame and that it appears virtually untouched since that time. Serial Number #109... One could search high and low in a lifetime of collecting and never find a better example... This large frame, big-bore “Top Break" will make a fantastic addition to any collection of high-grade Antique S&W Number 3's.
