Very Fine Antique Smith & Wesson #2 Army Civil War Range With Finish Tight As New Throughout.
Description: SOLD...Fine Early Civil War era Smith & Wesson #2 Army revolver. Here is a well above average Smith & Wesson #2 Army with some nice bright blue. SN 26636 with matching grips and with all matching assembly numbers.. Has the standard 6" barrel and is in the .32 caliber rim fire of course. The mechanics are excellent.. Crisp and tight as a new gun.. The hinge to barrel fit is tight as new with no wobble. The barrel latch to the frame is also tight as new. There is NO cylinder side to side or front to rear movement. Lock up is like new. This model, even in high condition, is usually found with loose fitting parts because of the weak design but this one is like new.. It seems that this gun has been fired very little and has been very well taken care of over all these years.. There is some very nice bright blue throughout the gun. The barrel has some blue in the top barrel ridge area where protected. Also some nice bright blue around the ejector pin on bottom. Some blue between the front sight and the barrel address.. The rest of the barrel shows thinning blue in places and fading to a light gray brown patina. The frame has the majority of finish as you can see.. It is a deeper blue mainly on the sides and the top and bottom of the frame around the hammer and a little in front of the cylinder.. There are light surface scratches on the right side of the frame as you can see but not real noticeable unless you tilt the gun like I did in the right lighting for them to show up.. Not into the metal at all.. Some blue on the butt by the S/N also..I think the photos show condition pretty well.. The cylinder has faded to the same gray brown patina. The hammer has 100% case colors on the left side and the back as the photos show... The right side of the hammer has faded out to silver.. The bore shows strong rifling with some minor roughness as expected and should clean out a little.. No big craters or anything bad at all.. The cylinder chambers are excellent, bright and clean with no roughness.. The grips are excellent with no cracks or chips and show 95% original varnish.. Just shows very little wear at the bottom flare and a couple very small flakes on the left side.. A perfect factory fit of course and numbered to the gun. Front sight is perfect. All the markings are excellent.. There is no pitting, dings or rough spots on this gun at all.. The screw heads show very little turning and not burred up from tinkering.. Over all, this is a very clean and crisp Civil War era Smith #2 Army.. If you are looking for one that is tight as new with some nice finish at a very reasonable price, this is it.... Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos.. I want happy customers. $15 insured shipping in the USA.. SOLD Antique: Yes |
