Cased Master Engraved S&W 5 Screw M&P with Ivory Grips .38 Pre Model 10
Description:
Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are certainly proud to offer this finely engraved Smith & Wesson Military and Police, the forerunner of the model 10. This workhorse revolver was made for men in uniform, and production really ramped up for WWII. If my research is correct, this revolver was made in the thick of the war, likely in the year of our Lord 1943. Sometime since, she was adorned with very finely detailed engraving and was fitted with a beautiful set of ivory grips. Undoubtedly a master, I can find no clue as to his identity. The patterns are tight and intricate, flowing nicely across the rust blued finish. On this desirable 5 screw Smith, even those 5 screws are engraved! The original walnut grips are present, bearing the serial number of the gun. They are finely checkered, which is not typical for the M&P. The frame and crane bear matching assembly numbers, and the butt and cylinder show matching serial numbers. The bore of the 5 inch barrel is very good, and no noticeable wear is found anywhere on the gun. The blue is somewhat thin around the muzzle. She comes in a very nice wooden case, also in top condition. If you have been looking for the right Smith to collect or for investment, but want stellar engraving to boot, then look no further.
