Smith & Wesson K-frame, 5 screw revolver. This is known as the "Pre-Model 10", made between 1948 and 1952. It has a square butt and checkered diamond walnut grips with inset S&W monogram. Trigger and hammer still have some remaining coloring. .38 S&W Special
