Description:
From 1960 to 1969, the U.S. Air Force purchased a large quantity of S&W Model 15 series revolvers with 4-inch barrels, target triggers, target hammers and Magna grips. Most were shipped to Warner Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, home to a U.S.A.F. logistics center, and were generally carried by security personnel.
This gun was made in 1968. It has standard S&W markings with the addition of "U.S.A.F." on the left side of the frame. The "F" seems to have several scratches on it for whatever reason. Matching serial numbers are present on the butt, right grip panel, ejector star, and inside of the frame. This gun comes with a Roy Jinks letter confirming the authenticity of the gun and configuration.
