This Smith & Wesson .38 Safety Hammerless 3rd Model revolver in .38 S&W is in good condition. The .38 Safety Hammerless 3rd Model was produced from 1890 to 1898, even though the first patent was in 1877, it was replaced by the 4th Model. The nickel plated barrel and frame are good with various finish imperfections and light pitting. The nickel plated 3 1/4" barrel is very good with sharp clear rifling in its bore. The double-action trigger is heavy, but is smooth with a crisp release. The S&W monogrammed pearl hand grips are very good with no chips or cracks. Although this S&W may not be very collectable, it is a curious item of interest. This Smith & Wesson revolver does not come with a box or any accessories. .38 S&W
