The Smith & Wesson Model 629-3 Classic Hunter with a 6-inch barrel is a highly collectible, large-frame revolver designed specifically for big-game handgun hunting. Produced as a limited run in the early 1990s, this specific version features a distinct unfluted cylinder and a full-length barrel underlug.

Barrel Length: This is the preferred 6-inch barrel, not the 6.5 inch. Makes for better balance.
Cylinder: Unfluted (Smooth stainless steel surface without traditional indents)

Approximate Weight: ~48 to 49 ounces (Empty)
Stock Grips: Black Hogue rubber synthetic grips with finger grooves (Factory standard for this series to absorb heavy recoil) Altamont finger-grooved grips w/ S&W medallion included.
Sights: Plain black ramp front sight with an adjustable old-style black target rear sight.
No MIM parts: This was the last series to include all forged steel parts.
The Full Endurance Package: Because it is a "dash-3" (-3) model, this revolver includes Smith & Wesson's full factory endurance package. This update added a hardened frame, an elongated cylinder stop notch, and a cylinder stop block. These upgrades stop the cylinder from unlocking or skipping under heavy recoil from magnum hunting loads.

No owner's manual/papers. S&W case not original to this gun.
