This S & W M640 Stainless Steel comes w/a 2nd pair of rubber Hogue Type grips.
It also comes w/a non-correct but period box. It appears to have been fired very little.
There is no spent cordite in or around the chamber or cylinder. There are no scratches,
rubs or markings that I can see. The action is tight & it cycles correctly. I'd say
about a 95-98% overal firearm. Also I haven't seen one in this good of condition in a
long while.
This Model is referred to by S & W as the ".38 Centennial Stainless, Specials"
The bore is shiney w/excellent rifling.
(It was this same model that NYC Police Officer "Walter Weaver was carrying
when he became trapped in WTC back in (9-11)". His revolver was recovered
& presented to the NRA for their museum to honor him.)
Ths particular M 640 has etched at the cylinder window - "Tested FOR + P."
