Bekeart-Shipped S&W .32-20 1st Model Revolver (Three Digit Serial)
Description:
Serial #117, .32-20 (.32 WCF), 6 1/2 inch barrel with an excellent, bright bore.
This is an 1899-made revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, and extractor.
The metal retains 90% plus of a British reapplied nickel finish with flaking present on the cylinder, some milf freckling on the sideplate, and crisp Birmingham commercial proofs.
The hammer and trigger retain about 90-95% of the original color case-hardening, and the checkered, hard rubber grips (numbered to the gun on the interior), have mild surface wear and flattening to the points.
The lock-up is still tight and the action is fully functional.
The revolver is accompanied by a 1983 S&W Factory Letter that lists a shipping date of March 6, 1899, to Phillip Bekeart & Co. of San Francisco.
It was evidently sent to Great Britain at some point, before returning to the USA.
This is a very nice, three-digit S&W, and rates very good-fine condition overall.
