A factory letter accompanies this investment grade and one-of-a-kind 3rd Model .44 Target confirming the configuration and detailing its original shipment on January 6, 1941 to Clapp & Treat in Hartford, Connecticut. The gun is equipped with a 6 1/2” barrel, original numbers matching rear sight target assembly, King red post front sight, King white outline round notch rear sight blade, original bright blue finish and the original numbers matching silver medallion Circassian walnut magna grips. Note the original numbers matching maroon patent display box with the 1926 TARGET stamp, along with the vapor paper and trilingual caution flyer. A must own N-frame that is mint from end to end save for the slightest bit of wear to the left muzzle end. The bore and cylinder chambers are mint and the mechanical working order is flawless. With such a small number of examples built, knowledgeable collectors are aware of the extreme rarity and unique configuration combine to make a truly special pre war N-frame that has no equal; period. You either own this one or you don’t.
