Standard configuration Smith & Wesson New Departure revolver chambered in .32 S&W, with a 3 inch barrel and factory nickel finish. Pinned half-moon front sight and U-notch rear sight. The Smith & Wesson address appears on top of the rib, the top line referencing its location in Springfield, Massachusetts, the second line referencing a series of patent dates. Circular S&W logo on the right side of the frame. SN: 70197 appears on the butt, repeated on the rear face of the cylinder, under the locking bridge, and scribed inside the right grip, matching throughout. Color case-hardened trigger. Standard black Gutta Percha grips, the upper portion with the intertwined S&W logo over a checkered field with exaggerated diamonds around the screw escutcheons. Complete with an original Smith & Wesson box, brown pebbled textured surface, with end label referencing Smith & Wesson, New 32 Departure, nickel, 3 1/2 inch, including cleaning brush.
Condition:
EXC retaining most of its bright, original nickel finish across the barrel, cylinder, and frame with areas of light handling and minor flaking along usual high-contact points. Faded color case hardening on trigger, more pronounced on its face. Commensurate fading on the blued trigger guard. EXC original grips without cracks or splits. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics, each cylinder indexing properly. VG+ original box with nicely marked end label.
