SMITH & WESSON SAFETY HAMMERLESS REVOLVER IN CALIBER 38 S & W WITH BOX
Description:
3-1/4 inch barrel with a bright bore. The metal surfaces of this fourth model revolver retain a good amount of original bright blue showing scattered flaking to gray-brown patina. The hammer retains fine case-hardened colors and the revolver wears a nice set of factory mother-of-pearl grips with gold S&W medallions. The grips are un-numbered and a little bit proud along the bottom edges. Aside from that they fit quite well. The remaining numbered parts are matching and the action seems to function quite well. The included factory red fabric-covered box shows some light tearing and edge wear while the green end label is mostly intact though the box is mismatched for a 4” barreled revolver. The interior of the box does have a pearl grip sticker along with an original oiling warning slip, an “oilright” pamphlet, and a 1933-dated letter describing pistol permitting in Otsego County, NY signed by county judge Lee D. Van Woert. An attractive ensemble.
