I‚m assuming this is a model 10 Smith & Wesson J-Frame revolver, although the model number is not stamped on the firearm. An internet search indicates the serial number was a late 1969 production, however, there is an indicator that the model numbers did not start getting stamped until 1957.

At any rate, this revolver is in very good condition. It is a .38 special with a 4\" barrel. The rifling in the bore is crisp and clean. The bluing is worn at the muzzle. There is patina on the frame of the grip. The cylinder timing is good.

The serial number (771288) is stamped under the barrel, on the cylinder, on the bottom of the grip of the frame and inside the wood grips. The is an \"X\" stamped on the frame under the grips. The number in the yoke differs. It is: 33171 with a 9 below it.
