c1904 SMITH & WESSON First Model LADYSMITH .22 LR C&R Revolver S&W Cased
SCARCE, 1 of 4,575 Made
Description: c1904 SMITH & WESSON First Model LADYSMITH .22 LR C&R Revolver S&W Cased SCARCE, 1 of 4,575 Made Here we present a C&R Cased Smith & Wesson First Model Ladysmith Revolver in .22 Rimfire Long (.22 S&W), made in Springfield, Massachusetts. Only 4,575 were made during the production run of 1902 through 1906. This model is significant as it was designed by Daniel B. Wesson himself and because it was the first .22 rimfire since the No. 1 Third Issue’s production ended two decades previously. Like the No. 1, the Ladysmith features 7 shots of .22 rimfire. Unlike the No. 1, the Ladysmith features a swingout cylinder with a star ejector as well as a double action trigger. Though tiny, it features a very usable steel frame and it is no wonder that ladies would have used this revolver for self-defense in the years leading up to the Roaring Twenties. S&W still uses this nomenclature in their marketing of small, concealable revolvers today! The first model Ladysmith was produced with a serial number range of 1 through 4575. The second model was produced between 1906 and 1910 with a serial number range of 4576 through 13,950. The third model was produced between 1910 and 1921 with a serial number range of 13,951 through 26,154. The overall condition is fine. Original nickel finish and case colors. The action is excellent. The bore is in very good condition with sharp rifling and minor spotting in the middle. The grips are solid. Numbers match. The modern case is in very good condition. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 3 inches. Caliber: .22 Long Rimfire (.22 S&W) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1300 #240770 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
