SMITH & WESSON .32 Long Caliber “HAND EJECTOR” Model of 1903 Revolver C&R
Description: SMITH & WESSON .32 Long Caliber “HAND EJECTOR” Model of 1903 Revolver C&R Smith & Wesson’s First Swing Out Cylinder Revolvers Here we present a C&R Smith & Wesson .32 S&W Hand Ejector 2nd Model, 2nd Change Revolver, also referred to as the Hand Ejector Model of 1903, manufactured between 1906 and 1909 in Springfield, Massachusetts, with the serial numbers ranging between 51,127 to 95,500. This S&W 2nd Model, 2nd Change revolver is considered by many to be the first fully modern .32 Smith & Wesson revolver, because it incorporates the rebound slide that was designed by Joseph H. Wesson in 1905. The “Hand Ejector” models were the first time Smith & Wesson made a revolver with a swing-out cylinder. Interestingly, there is no cylinder latch, but the action opens by pulling forward on the exposed portion of the cylinder pin. This frees the spring tension and allows the cylinder to swing free. Another novel feature of this model is the cylinder stop location, which is located in the top of the frame over the cylinder. Chambered for .32 S&W Long cartridge, it has a 6-shot fluted cylinder and was offered with 3.25", 4.25" and 6" long barrels. Available with a round or square butt, it also came with checkered hard rubber grips and was either blued or nickel-plated. Factory installed target sights were available by special order. This example was one of the very last 2nd Model, 2nd Change revolvers manufactured, likely in 1909, with a serial number of 95,492 with production ending at 95,500. The overall condition is very fine. Original blue finish and case colors. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The S&W trademarked grips are in great shape. Numbers match. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 4-1/4 inches. Caliber: .32 Long Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1650 #220758 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
