Description: Synopsis: S&W, 38-44 Outdoorsman, Boxed, Factory Letter, S98184, FB01077 Description: A beautiful original finish 38-44 Outdoorsman Model of 1950, 5-screw, .38 S&W Special, with 6.5” barrel, adjustable rear sight, and standard fittings. Revolver is unusual in having full serial number on barrel lug, rear of cylinder, and butt with matching assembly number on frame and crane. Complete with correct Blue/Gold shipping box, referencing finish and barrel length along with original factory letter signed by Roy G. Jinks that includeds a copy of the bill of sale to Rex Firearms Co Inc. of New York on April 30, 1953. Condition: EXC+, near new, original factory finish with minimal cylinder ring and a few very tiny rust freckles on left and right forward frame as carefully photographed. Two tiny scuffs under trigger guard. Correct grips, the left panel unmarked, the right panel with overstamps. VG-EXC blue/gold shipping box. EXC original/signed factory letter. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics.
