Gun has an even brown patina with traces of original blue in protected areas, mostly around the recoil plate. Bore is bright and shiny with light frosting visible in the grooves, handsome rifling remains. Two piece walnut grips have light nicks and dings noted. Action indexes correctly with a tight lock up. Most of these revolvers were issued to the 4th, 9th and 10th cavalry during the Indian Wars!
