CIVIL WAR ERA Smith & Wesson #2 Old Model Army Revolver with Holster
FREE SHIPPING
Description: Very good condition Smith & Wesson #2 Old Army, caliber 32 Rimfire, 6" ribbed octagon barrel, blued finish, rosewood grips, 6 shot cylinder, spur trigger, single action, with unmarked brown leather flap holster. Serial number 20611 was made in the Spring of 1864. These revolvers were very popular personal side arms of Civil War officers and NCOs. CONDITION: The revolver retains a significant amount of flaking blue finish around the front sight, on the frame/sideplates and the protected underside, the balance drifting to a medium grey patina. The front sight is German silver with a single line barrel address. The cylinder retains the majority of its muted blue with crisp patent markings. The smooth Rosewood grips are in very good condition with a small chip at the base of the left panel. The bore is very good with well-defined rifling and only minor scattered/light roughness. The action is crisp and the markings are sharp. There is absolutely no wobble at the hinge - tight as a drum. Assembly numbers match on the cylinder and breech. Serial number on bottom of grip strap matches serial number found on inside of grips. A fine example of a Civil War era Smith & Wesson #2. TERMS: FREE SHIPPING to the Continental United States.
