HIGH CONDITION WITH FACTORY BOX .32 DA 5TH MODEL TOP BREAK, 3" BLUE, 5-SHOT REVOLVER #287XXX, MADE 1909-1910.
Description: HIGH CONDITION WITH FACTORY BOX .32 DA 5TH MODEL TOP BREAK, 3" BLUE, 5-SHOT REVOLVER #287XXX, MADE 1909-1910. This is a really fine example of a revolver usually found in nickel finish and in worn condition. The .32 Double Action 5th Model was made from 1909-1919 and ran in the serial number range of 283000-327641. By the very low number on this one it was probably made in the first year of the 5th Model variation. Interestingly, the front sight on this example is pinned, as on earlier iterations. Almost all 5th Models have integral front sights, again, attesting to this one's early manufacture date. This revolver appears to have not been fired as it retains about all the blue on the front face of the cylinder. It also retains excellent bright high polish blue with only some light freckling/flaking on the right side of the frame and some similar to the grip straps and bottom of the trigger guard- more from age than actual handling or wear. Grips are excellent and the sides of the hammer and trigger still show some nice case color. Bore is perfect and has all matching numbers on the barrel, latch, cylinder and frame. The box is solid with no repairs and has a fine end label stating .32 Double Action, blue, 3" etc. Inside the box is the "caution" label about pearl stocks as well as directions for use in the lid. These are not often found in blue finish or in this condition. The box alone especially in this condition, is extremely rare!
